Giuseppe Ferrata (1865-1928), Italian-born composer and pianist, taught in New Orleans at Newcomb College, Tulane University, from 1909 until 1928. He graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in Rome, and later studied with Sgambati and Liszt. Upon his arrival to the United States in 1892, he taught at several conservatories, including Beaver College of Music in Pittsburgh.
